Statue of Liberty
There are a number of iconic things that make New York, New York, and the Statue of Liberty is certainly one of them. So, if you are in New York on a holiday, you simply need to take a visit to see the Statue of Liberty up close and personal. It was built in 1886, and is the symbol of freedom, in the land of the free.
Probably one of the most iconic parks in the entire world, Central Park is even more amazing due to the high density buildings all around it. This park is massive, so it could be a good idea to spend an entire day, or at least half a day walking around and exploring.
Metropolitan Museum of Art
There are so many different museums that you can visit in New York, but you really can’t go past the MET. There are actually three different locations, and all of them hold some of the world’s greatest masterpieces. It is a good idea to check in advance to see what type of displays they have currently, then you can make a clear cut decision if you want to go.
Empire State Building
New York is filled to the brim of skyscrapers, but none are more iconic then the Empire State Building. You can travel to the top of the Empire State Building and go out on one of the observation decks and look down and see the brilliance that is New York! When it opened in 1931 it was the tallest building in New York.
Time Square is filled to the brim with tourists, and it has become a little over done with all the tourists, but it is one of the most iconic places in New York, so it is a must see at least once in your life. You have probably already seen pictures of Times Square, even if you haven’t been to New York, but there is nothing like seeing it in person, with all the lights and billboards, it is truly a feast for the eyes.
You can’t go to New York without going shopping! And the best place to do some A-grade shopping is on Fifth Avenue. There are stacks of stores for you to visit, and even if you are just window shopping, it can be a fun outing that should be done if you are in New York.
